fortune teller – a person who tells others their future
clairvoyant – a person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact
astrologer – someone who reads stars
palm reader – a fortune teller who bases predictions on studying the palm of a person
crystal ball – a spherical object that helps fortune tellers see into the future
tarot cards – a special set of cards used by psychics for future telling
rune – a letter of an ancient Germanic alphabet, related to the Roman alphabet

mirror – an object in which one can see his/her own reflection
candles – a cylinder or block of wax or tallow with a central wick that is lit to produce light as it burns
gypsy – a member of a traveling people with dark skin and hair who speak Romany and traditionally live by seasonal work, itinerant trade, and fortune-telling
fortune cookies – a thin folded cookie containing a slip of paper with a prediction or aphorism written on it, served in Chinese restaurants
oracle – a priest or priestess acting as a medium through whom advice or prophecy was sought from the gods in classical antiquity

prediction – a statement about what you think will happen in the future
fixed appointment – at a particular time and place
intention – idea that you plan to carry out
potential – the possibility to develop or achieve something in the future
prospect – something that you expect to happen in the future
promise – a sign that someone or something is likely to be successful in the future
futuristic – dealing with events in the future

in the long run – not immediately but at some time in the future
destiny – the things that you will do or the type of person you will become
visionary – a person with unusual powers of foresight
omen – a sign of something about to happen
